Une route relativement courte, idéale pour voir les villages qui s'étendent sur le pied nord du mont Vrissinas.
Agia Irini est un village où se trouve le monastère homonyme d'Agia Irini datant de 1362.En 1995, le monastère a reçu le prix Europa Nostra European Preservation and Renovation for Architectural Monuments Award.
.Aujourd'hui, il regorge de spiritualité étant une communauté de dix religieuses, occupée par l'hagiographie, le tissage et la broderie. Dans le monastère, il y a aussi un musée ecclésiastique.
.Chromonastiri est un village où l'on doit visiter la magnifique Villa Claudio, appelée aussi -Konaki, comme il a servi de résidence officielle pendant la domination ottomane, et d'autres bâtiments vénitiens.Vous verrez également les églises byzantines de Panagia Kera et Agios Eftichios avec des fresques du 11ème et 14ème siècle, qui sont considérées comme les plus anciennes peintures murales connues en Crète.
.Chromonastiri a reçu le prix "Cleaner Organized Traditional Settlement" du Comité pour la promotion du tourisme de la préfecture de Rethymno.

Right to the church you will see the most characteristic Venetian houses that are preserved in the village. The route from here leads to the small, green gorge of Mili and climbs up to the village Chromonastiri, where the magnificent Villa Clodio is situated, hosting the Military Museum.
You will see the Byzantine churches of Panagia Kera and Agios Eftichios with frescoes from the 11th and 14th century, which are considered as the oldest known murals in Crete. Shortly after the village, a dirt road leads to Prasses.
