Een prachtige route die enkele van de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van de prefectuur, Byzantijnse kerken, kloosters en archeologische sites verbindt.
.Vanuit Platanias loopt de provinciale weg door een reeks mooie en interessante dorpjes en klimt omhoog naar het historische klooster van Arkadi.
.Na Eleftherna daalt de weg af naar de pittoreske Margarites, een dorp met een lange traditie in aardewerk.
.Deze traditie dateert uit ten minste de jaren van de Ottomaanse overheersing en maakt het dorp Margarites een van de belangrijkste aardewerkcentra van West Kreta.
.Hier bezoek je onder andere de Byzantijnse kerken van Agios Georgios (14de eeuw), Agios Ioannis Theologos (1383) en Sotira Christou.
.De weg ontmoet de Old National Road, en een beetje verder het kruispunt naar de dorpen Alpha en Erfi. De kerk van Agios Ioannis, is versierd met 14e-eeuwse muurschilderingen van uitstekende kwaliteit.
.Dan gaat de weg verder richting Viran Episkopi, waar je weer de Old National Road neemt en via Stavromenos terugkeert naar Rethymno.
