Velonado ist ein kleines Dorf etwa 30 km südwestlich von Rethymno. Die grüne Schlucht von Mountros endet in diesem Dorf.Der Besucher kann einen gemütlichen Halt in einem der traditionellen Cafés des Dorfes machen und seinen Kaffee oder sein Getränk genießen und "Raki", das traditionelle Getränk der Insel, probieren.
.In den Monaten Oktober und November findet die Destillation von "Raki" in einem Kessel namens "Rakokázano" statt.Dann ist es eine Zeit zum Feiern und jeder ist eingeladen, mit den großzügigen und gastfreundlichen Dorfbewohnern zu essen und zu trinken.
Ein weiteres Motiv zum Feiern ist die Feier am 14. August.
.Vilandredo ist ein Dorf in Lappei, 34 km von Rethymno entfernt, auf einer Höhe von 380 Metern.
.Der Name des Dorfes wird erstmals in der Volkszählung von 1881 erwähnt und stammt vom venezianischen Wort Villandredo, was Andredos Herrenhaus bedeutet.
Es lohnt sich, die Filippou-Höhle mit ihren Stalagmiten zu besuchen.
.Darüber hinaus ist Vilandredo ein grünes Gebiet mit reichlich Wasser.
.Die zweite, Kato Poros Schlucht, beginnt vor Villandredo und endet durch das Dorf Kato Poros an den Gräbern der Fünf Jungfrauen im alten Lapa vor Argyroupoli.
.Es ist fast immer im Schatten und reiche Wildblumen und Felsüberhänge. Von dort führt ein Steinweg nach Argyroupoli.

These gorges are ideal for inexperienced walkers and groups.

Velonado is a small village about 30km southwest from Rethymno. The verdant gorge of Mountros ends at this village.
The visitor can make a leisurely stop at one of the traditional cafés of the village enjoying his coffee or drink and taste "Raki", the traditional drink of the island.
During the months of October and November the distillation of "Raki"takes place inside a cauldron known as "Rakokázano". Then, it's a time for celebration and everybody is invited to eat and drink with the generous and hospitable villagers.
Another motive for celebration is the revelry taking place on August 14.
